Edward David Sturgeon, better known as Davy, born 12/5/1933 died 18/6/2009 aged 76, lived in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute.
He was a time-served nursery-man with Listers Nursery and continued his love of horticulture until the end. He was a devoted husband, father (of 6) and grandfather. He won many prizes for his exhibits at the local flower show but his speciality was dahlias. He loved his garden which won admiration from everyone but the hard work and long hours to achieve this perfection never bothered him. We, his loving family, miss him so dearly but gain comfort that his memory breeds new life.
Florence Helen Sturgeon born 13.5.1937 died 26.2.2023 aged 85, lived in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute and was married to Edward David Sturgeon. Florence was a devoted wife, mother to 6 children and grandmother. She was extremely talented and won many prizes for her knitting and home baking. Her speciality was wedding and celebration cakes which won admiration from everyone. She was extremely kind and was always thinking of others. We her loving family will miss her so dearly, although she and our dad are now together again.
Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to this fitting memorial to them.

They have gone so fast
Yet everyday
An eternity
Without you here with us
All the love that you have shown
Through all the years that we have grown
Formed memories that keep us going
And keep you close to us
We still cry today
Although we loved you dearly
We couldn't make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove
To us he only takes the best.
that special smile,
that caring heart,
that warm embrace,
you always gave us.
You being there
for Mum and us,
through good and bad times,
no matter what.
We'll always remember
you Dad because
they'll never be another one
to replace you in our hearts,
and the love we will always
have for you.
and a cure was not to be.

So he put his arms around you

and whispered "Come to Me".

A golden heart stopped beating,

hard working hands now rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best.
