We are polluters, sounds like we are somehow wrong-doers taking actions against the world and life, and in one sense we are. So what to do about this? We both came to the conclusion that to mitigate and ultimately negate our impact we have to start somewhere. For us trees & vegetation are the most effective way of removing CO2 from the atmosphere, after all nature has had 400 million years to work this out without using toxic chemicals, additional CO2 from the energy to store the CO2 in the first place, and a safe place to store the CO2 which doesn't leak. So why this page? Well, we want to support the good work of Trees for Life, as Scotland is our home and we want to share this with you the people in our lives. For us this is an opportunity for the community we belong to, to jointly make a difference in the world we share. Lastly, we are concerned about the state of the world we will be leaving for future generations, consider we are the ancestors for the future - how do we want to be remembered? So we are now taking action and initially will start planting 2 trees per month, this will be increased at least every year. In tandem with this we are starting to reduce our impact in other ways so that within the next 5 years we are taking out CO2 from the atmosphere, not putting it in. Be aware that every tree you plant will adsorb approximately 1 tonne of CO2 over its lifetime of around 40-50 years. The release of the CO2 we all produce will take that length of time for its affects to show up, so planting now will make a difference to your impact on the planet. Currently we are big personal polluters with air travel being the biggest impact by far, we invite you to find out what your personal impact is. See the website below which we use to calculate our CO2 output: http://www.carbonfootprint.com To complete, trees do much more than absorb CO2, they fix topsoil, create the space for unique habitats to flourish, control rainwater absorption, stabilise soils and likely much more. For £5 per tree you can make a huge difference, we invite you to contribute.

The trees in this grove will be carefully planted in protected sites in the Scottish Highlands where they will create homes for wildlife and forests for the future.
