Full Conservation Holidays; 'Keep me posted'
Spaces sometimes become available again on weeks that have previously been booked up.
If you are interested in a Conservation Holiday currently marked as 'full', please use the 'Keep me posted' link to email us and let us know to tell you if a space becomes free on that week. Please do not change the title of the email as otherwise we won't know which week you are interested in, and please do tell us your name!

Booking Notes
Please read the booking terms and conditions below.
The cost
It costs Trees for Life over £3,000 to run each week! Our fund-raising covers most of the costs, but the contributions that volunteers make are also vital. We have a sliding scale fee structure (see booking form) in place in order to make these weeks available to everyone. If you’re able to pay more than the specified amount, we’d be very grateful. There is also an option of paying the full cost of an unsubsidised place on a week, which is £300.
Insurance
Volunteers are covered for public liability and limited personal accident cover. Our insurance does not cover your personal belongings nor cover your free time activities.
Booking Terms & Conditions
The vast majority of our volunteers feel inspired by their Conservation Holiday and give 'excellent' or 'very good' feedback. In order to continue to provide this level of experience we ask you to agree to these terms and conditions. This will ensure that we can operate efficiently and safely in everyone's interest.
- Conservation Holiday participants must be 18 or over.
- Cancellations or transfers made 6 weeks or more before the Conservation Holiday start date will receive a full refund minus a £10 administration charge. Cancellations or transfers made between 6 and 4 weeks before the booking date will receive a 50% refund minus a £10 administration charge. Transfers or refunds cannot usually be given for any cancellations made within 4 weeks of the original booking. As there are only ten places available on each week it is very important that we are notified of any cancellation or change in your booking, as we may be able to fill your place. If you do pull out of the week without notifying us, the group’s work will be affected by your absence and there will be financial implications for us.
- We need to know if you have any medical condition, whether you are taking medication, have any mental health issues, mental or physical disabilities, or have any previous injuries which may affect your ability to work. We may contact you to discuss this. Details are held in the strictest confidence. Please fill out the relevant section on the booking form and remember to inform the leaders on your week. The vast majority of people can be accommodated, but we must be made aware beforehand.
- Due to online, phone and postal booking methods running simultaneously, please await confirmation of your Conservation Holiday booking before making any other arrangements. We do our very best to keep the website updated but Conservation Holidays could be full by the time out of office hours bookings are processed.
- You can only book a maximum of 2 consecutive Conservation Holidays due to the nature of the physical work you will be involved in and the challenging terrain at the various work sites.
- By booking a place on a Conservation Holiday you are committing to the entire week, which runs from Saturday to Saturday. If you arrive late or leave early you are likely to miss essential information and have an impact on the group’s work.
- You can do as many Conservation Holidays as you like but we don’t accept bookings for more than 2 consecutive Conservation Holidays. This is due to the nature of the physical work you will be involved in, as well as group dynamics. We may contact you to discuss consecutive bookings.
- Trees for Life accepts block bookings. If you would like to book more than one place on a week please call the office to make the booking as each person must complete an individual application. Group bookings of more than 4 people must be agreed with the Conservation Holiday office before a booking can be confirmed.
- Please make sure we have a mobile phone number for you, in case we need to contact you at the time of your travel with any essential information. Also, please provide a next of kin or close friend’s contact details in case of emergency.
- Although every effort is made to describe the details of each week accurately in our literature, it is occasionally necessary for TFL to make changes at short notice to the work and accommodation. If you have any questions please contact us. Rarely, weeks are cancelled due to low numbers or factors outside of our control. In such cases we will try to let you know beforehand and offer an alternative week or full refund.
- Non UK residents are welcome provided that you speak enough English to understand instructions and safety information.
- We reserve the right to refuse applications for Conservation Holidays or to ask a volunteer to leave if his/her behaviour is affecting the safety or general performance of the team. These instances occur very rarely.
- In the unlikely event of you having cause for complaint, you should first tell the Conservation Holiday leader. If the problem remains unresolved you should write to TFL within 14 days of the end of the Conservation Holiday and we will investigate further.
- Sorry but we cannot allow dogs on Conservation Holidays.
- Data Protection Act 1998: By agreeing to these terms and conditions you are giving your consent for TFL to process any personal data that you provide.
