Musica Nordica is a social enterprise, creating and curating live music experiences to promote collaboration and cultural exchange between Scotland and the Nordic nations: Åland, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
Scotland and the Nordic nations occupy a geographic territory characterised by shared topography, ecology, economy and social pursuits. These identities define the material and performance cultures of these countries and are expressed in the sounds and instruments of their folk, classical and contemporary musical idioms.
Musica Nordica celebrates these identities, presenting them through a rich and diverse palette of media and experience, whilst delivering a sustainable legacy for the realms of performance and nature.
We are inspired by the breath-taking landscapes of Scotland and the Nordic realm, which at once defines our individual national identities and unites them. We actively support the conservation and preservation of our shared natural capital: a unique territory, flora and fauna.
Trees for Life is our natural partner: for without trees, there is no wood; and without wood, there is no music.
