A Grove of trees in the Scottish Highlands
This grove is dedicated to my father

An amazing father who was everything a son could ask for.

His love of nature helped shape my own fascination with the natural world.

I miss my father every day and suspect that I always will - he was my Pa, my buddy.

And it is my sincerest wish, that in the fullness of time, I will find myself treading softly through a peaceful forest, the trees bright green in their new spring foliage, the forest floor carpeted with bluebells, to find my father sitting quietly on the daffodil-lined banks of the Minnowburn.

And placing my hand gently on his shoulder, I will ask "Father, is it alright if I come and sit with you awhile?"

And that we shall then have all the time in the world to enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest together.

Love, your son, John

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host, of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the milky way,

They stretched in never-ending line

Along the margin of a bay;

Ten thousand saw I at a glance,

Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

William Wordsworth
