A grove of trees in the Scottish Highlands

After twelve years together, we have chosen to marry. Instead of gifts, we invite our friends and family to
plant a tree in our wedding grove as a collective legacy to future generations.

After twelve years together, we have chosen to marry. Instead of gifts, we invite our friends and family to plant a tree in our wedding grove. In part, we were brought together by our shared love of trees, so it is natural to wish to regenerate a forest on the occasion of our wedding. Particularly as we have not had children together, we hope this forest can be our creative legacy – along with music and dance – to future generations. We are also aware that both Scotland and Greece have suffered from deforestation in past centuries, when trees were felled in large numbers in order to make ships – including those that carried our migrating ancestors from their respective homelands. We see the movement towards regenerating the Earth's forests as another kind of boat, or ark, in which all of humanity can collectively sail towards a sustainable future. Thank you for contributing trees to our grove.
