Join us for a day and help restore the Caledonian Forest

Do you live in the Inverness-shire, mid Highland or west Moray area, or are you visiting and have a free day? Explore the Highlands in a new way by getting involved with conservation volunteering days in some of Scotland’s most spectacular landscapes and meet other people with an interest in the outdoors!

Days run in a variety of locations across our project areas. You could help to plant and monitor trees in Glen Affric, pot seedlings at our tree nursery or take part in assorted tasks as required. Project sites and activities vary for a range of interests and physical abilities.

No previous experience is required as all training is given as part of the day. You must be over 18 to take part. For some activities and locations a good level of physical fitness is required. However, many of our days are more gentle and accessible. You will need to bring your own waterproof clothing, boots or wellies, lunch and a passion for nature!

Current dates:

Weds 14 Aug            Glen Strathfarrar

Another chance to get out to Strathfarrar, checking trees again. Short but steep walk
uphill to the site, great spot, gorgeous views.

Conservation Days run on an ad-hoc basis with additional days as needed. We run a minibus on these days that can pick up volunteers from Findhorn, Forres, Nairn, Inverness and Drumnadrochit depending on project location.

Ness Glens Volunteers

We have joined with other organisations, including the RSPB and Woodland Trust, to support the formation of a new ‘Ness Glens Volunteers’ group – see Ness Glens Volunteering Days below. Each organisation will arrange its own tasks but we will co-operate in offering these to our volunteers.

Please note that we cannot offer transportation for these days and you will need to make your own way.

Group Conservation Days

If you are part of a social group, voluntary sector organisation or would like to bring a work party out to volunteer, we can organise days that are outwith our existing programme with your group in mind.
