All Conservation Week volunteers working at Rewilding Dundreggan and Tree Nursery Weeks will stay at Dundreggan Lodge. This is Trees for Life's field base at the southern boundary of Dundreggan Estate, in Glen Moriston.
Volunteer with us here for a week and make the most of this beautiful location. The Lodge is set in ancient woodland with the Red Burn (Allt Ruadh) running nearby and the hills Binnilidh Bheag and Binnilidh Mhor just on the doorstep.
The Lodge was refurbished in 2014 and is both spacious and comfortable. There are four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a large living and dining room with a wood burning stove. A beautiful hand drawn birch mural runs the entire length of the living and dining room area, to remind volunteers of the vital work they're carrying out! The Lodge has a landline that takes both incoming and outgoing calls - most mobile networks have very limited or no coverage at Dundreggan. If you would like to know the phone number of the Lodge before your Conservation Week, please contact the Trees for Life office on 01309 691292.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to explore the Estate on their day off - including walking on the woodland footpaths. We also have a wildlife watching hide at Dundreggan, where if you're lucky you might glimpse red deer, pine marten or one of the many local bird species. The hide has a remote controlled camera that links to a television in the Lodge - so after a day of working outside, you can watch wildlife from the comfort of the living room!
