Now there is a little spot on the Earth that is especially dear and meaningful to all of us...that will do the breathing when we are all gone. Thank you for thinking of us........ I mean ALL of us.

Wedding Grove

Dearest Family and Friends,

We have chosen to create a wedding grove as opposed to doing a more traditional wedding gift list.

Both of us were lucky enough to combine our homes and have found that we have too much stuff!

So rather than collect more, we thought it would be nicer to have something that we all really need - more trees in the Scottish highlands!

Also, as many of you are traveling long distances to get here for our ceremony, this was a way we could have a carbon neutral wedding and create a lovely legacy at the same time. Imagine that instead of asking you to get us a toaster we said that for our wedding gifts we would like you to create something that makes oxygen, sequesters carbon, fixes nitrogen, distils water, provides habitat for hundreds of species, accrues solar energy fuel, makes complex sugars and food, changes colours with the seasons, creates microclimates, and self-replicates.

With this gift we get all of that plus a place we can go for years to come and have a lovely picnic. We hope you'll be there to join us.

Love Marc & Lorna

Your grove of trees

The trees in this grove will be carefully planted in protected sites in the Scottish Highlands where they will create homes for wildlife and forests for the future.

Scots pine against a summer blue sky.
Twinflowers in bloom on pine woodland floor.
A Scotch argus butterfly on common ragwort.
