A memorial to a life well lived though much too short. Loving husband, father, grandfather and good friend to many. David had a great love of the North West Highlands and especially Plockton “The Jewel of the Highlands”. We spent most of our holidays there over the last 20 years, enjoying many woodland walks in different locations and he was known to hug a tree or two. He developed an appreciation of nature and wildlife, highlights being seeing otters, red squirrels and birds of prey in the wild. David was also a music lover and played the guitar. His guitar travelled all over Scotland on every holiday and short break. He did not covet the limelight and played for the joy of it in quiet places surrounded by nature, sometimes being known as the phantom guitar player. David was also a keen sportsman playing football from boyhood until his mid thirties when injury ended his career. His love of sport transferred to golf at which he excelled achieving at his best a handicap of 6. At the heart of it all was his love of being a team player, the bond of male comradeship and blokey humour. He had a gentler side which he often hid behind humour but he always had time to listen to people and cared for those less fortunate than himself. Working for and donating to charities he really cared about. He was a “good bloke” and will be missed by many, not least his nearest and dearest. RIP David Loving you Now & Always
