Respect for people and planet is inscribed in SSM values. Through our projects we champion sustainability driven design and construction to deliver buildings and environments which value the natural environment. We believe that the current bio-diversity crisis our planet faces is a real threat to our lives and the eco-systems which we depend on, so we decided to take action. Making our mark on Scotland’s wild landscape, one tree will be planted for each one of our 26 members of staff to start our SSM grove in the Caledonian Forest. With a little help from our friends, colleagues and clients, we will make sure this grove expands and grows in time. Together we can make a real difference in our environment and support Scottish eco-systems to thrive. This investment is important to us for a number of reasons - we are actively working to offset our carbon footprint, we are supporting Scotland’s environmental goals, rewilding and biodiversity, and investing in a lasting legacy with real positive ecological impact.
