These trees are dedicated to our wonderful foundation doctor colleagues that we have had at Croydon University Hospital this year. I wanted to mark their time in a way that made a difference, to reflect how much of a difference they have made to our hospital, to our patients and to those of us who were tasked with looking after them. The honour and privilege of looking after foundation year one doctors is that we were given seeds. They were planted in our organisation and we watched them grow, not only in their abilities as clinicians but also in our hearts as people. We watched them transform into the competent, caring and considerate clinicians they are today, protecting life and providing solace when its time is due. Just as they have grown, these seeds we will grow into trees that will not only protect life and sustain others, but will also fight the crisis of climate change. Our health service too is in crisis, and these young men and women are the future, who will support and transform the wider healthcare system, and will always remain a part of our family. Thank you
