Religions for Peace UK – Trees for Peace

Trees stand as timeless symbols of peace and enlightenment across various religious beliefs, many scriptures point to harmony with nature as a spiritual duty. 'Trees for Peace' project leads us to "rewild" Scotland, which was damaged since the 1700s by large scale sports shooting and sheep grazing. Rewilding can soak up carbon dioxide, strengthen communities, reverse biodiversity loss, and mitigate extreme weather events.

Many faiths and beliefs advocate the interconnectedness between humanity and nature. We believe that respecting both is a part of bringing peace. This project has lots to teach us about biodiversity during restoration, the science involved also alerts us to the fact that in caring for our environment we are also caring for our future generations. Let us all take up the responsibility of being Good Stewards on Mother Earth.
