This is the Powell Grove. Started in 2024 as a tribute to the family with six trees planted as a fortieth birthday gift to Clinton Maxwell Powell. The Grove is located in the Scottish Highlands, a place where Clinton discovered his love of whisky and hot tubs! Each tree represents one of the strong Powell men in Clinton's life. Starting with Clinton himself, a kind, funny and passionate man who's family means the world to him. The second tree is for Clinton's oldest child Jor'el Powell who at the time of planting was an extremely intelligent nine year old, an excellent runner and sportsman, with an amazing sense of humour. The third tree is for Alyas Powell, Clinton's second born. A kind, compassionate seven year old with a love of football and an extremely dedicated and hardworking mindset. Next, Clinton's youngest child to date, Genesis Powell is represented by the fourth tree. He has just turned four, yet is regularly described as a "little old man" by his Dad and who, at three years old, started a story with "when I was young". An astonishingly bright and inquisitive child. Clinton's Father is remembered by the penultimate tree: Nigel Powell sadly passed away in 2013 but is remembered by so many as an incredible man who started a business in the rag trade in Wolverhampton where he worked with Clinton by his side. Described as a powerful man, hardworking provider and a man who would help anyone who needed it. He instilled many of these strengths and traits into Clinton - Hardworking, passionate and kind, with the ability to befriend anybody. Finally, Clinton's paternal Grandfather Pastor Herbert Powell who aided hundreds of people on their move to the UK and supported many back in Jamaica through his church. The Powells are an amazing family who have already touched the lives of so many, and who's legacy will live on through future generations who will undoubtedly go on to do great things. Happy Birthday Clint. I love you more today than yesterday, but less than tomorrow. Always, your Hannah.
