Add to this grove
Multiple Sclerosis Centre, Mid Argyll support people living with long term health conditions, people negatively impacted by poor mental health and people with challenging life circumstances through our Snowdrop Community Hub and our outreach and wellbeing projects across Mid Argyll, Kintyre, Islay and Jura.
Supporting people to improve their wellbeing by empowering them to manage their own conditions, to practice self care, to accept and love themselves and our planet.
Many we work with feel under-represented and unheard in community climate conversations. To encourage these conversations and to raise awareness on reducing our carbon footprint, we invite our community to dedicate trees to individuals and groups to plant in our grove helping create that kinder future, one act of kindness, one tree, at a time.
Our grove is funded by the Argyll and Bute Climate Action Fund.

As a big thank you to Maff Potts, our guest author and founder of the Camerados and to Ardrishaig Primary School, the first Camerados Primary School in Scotland who gave the Snowdrop team and Maff the biggest warmest, welcome and also to Book Week Scotland for helping make Maff’s visit to Scotland possible, we are planting three trees in our Snowdrop Grove. The trees are our symbol of the growth of the social global movement Camerados; which is based on being alongside and looking out for each other. The roots of our tree represent what must take hold in our communities so that everyone can be socially connected and have a senses of purpose.
The trunk representing the six principles of Camerados that guide how we show up to others.
The branches reach outward, just as we do, connecting across communities, places and shared and different lived experiences.
And its leaves symbolise the gifts that all humans can share with one another helping us see others as valued, not vulnerable, needed, not needy.
Individual trees planted among other trees in a grove is a gentle reminder that when we each show up as more human together, we can get through the tough times by creating strong communities. By mixing with folks not like us, disagreeing well, being a bit silly, being a bit rubbish, asking someone struggling to help us and maybe just have more of the good days than bad.
Planting these trees also helps towards offsetting some of the carbon from the various journeys that needed to happen to bring us all together face to face to celebrate friendship.

This tree is dedicated to The Community Shop team in Lochgilphead for the positive difference being made both in our community at a local level and through reducing land fill at a global level. Fascinating to hear Scott speak at the February Climate Cafe about the shop and the good work of the whole team.
Well done and keep on making a difference.
Shop local think global.

This tree is dedicated to Barney Black, to acknowledge Barney's passion for connecting people, sharing their stories while raising awareness of Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
We first connected with Barney through his podcast 'MS is Chronic' .
Barney had conversations initially with a lady on Islay with MS and then with our Outreach Worker, Claire, who grew up with a parent with MS.
From this first contact, we recognised Barney as both a positive and inspiring guy.
One of life's 'Can do' people.
Thank you Barney for making a difference.Donated by Snowdrop Argyll

This tree is dedicated to Clare, and all who have helped her with the incredible creative work she does through the Community Harmony Scarf.
A scarf created with ribbons, each ribbon representing a person and their unique story. The scarf is not only a beautifully textured explosion of colour, the stories behind the scarf are a unique way to let people know, you are seen, you are heard, you are included, you matter.
Thank you Hilda, Cope Scotland for connecting us with Clare.
Thank you Clare for joining our Self Care hybrid session, creating links across the UK, with people joining from Argyll, Perthshire, Lanarkshire and you in Cornwall.Donated by Snowdrop Argyll
