Tasting Scotland Tour Journeys

Add to this grove
At Tasting Scotland Tour Journeys, I’ve been sharing Scotland’s incredible landscapes with couples, families and groups of independent travellers for many years. Being out and about as a Driver-Guide I’ve always been very conscious of my carbon footprint. Historically, ancient Caledonian forests covered 80% of Scotland, but this has dwindled to approximately 5%. I’ve decided to team up with the wonderful folks at ‘Trees for Life’. Now, for every full day I am out on the road touring this beautiful country, I donate so another native tree is planted. This helps restore Scotland’s beautiful wild spaces, combat climate change and boost biodiversity by transforming open hillsides into thriving ecosystems, providing essential habitats for endangered species such as red squirrels, black grouse, capercaillie, pine martens, and golden eagles. ‘From little acorns, mighty oaks grow’ – along with the many other trees that make up the spectacular Caledonian forest! We’re proud of this meaningful way to give a little back to the hills and glens we love. And to all who have toured with us thank you for choosing Tasting Scotland Tour Journeys and for your contribution to this Corporate Trees for Life grove. Together we help to ensure Scotland stays wild and wonderful for many generations to come. Brenda Anderson Tasting Scotland Tour Journeys

To Sandy Michael, Palm Bay, Florida.

I was delighted to hear you were returning to tour Scotland again Sandy, and thank you for giving me the chance to be your Driver-Guide once again.

Setting out on the two coldest (yet sunny and dry) days this year so far the Autumn colours were spectacular through the Trossachs. From the band of morning fog, the brave wild swimmer and the paddle boarder at Loch Lubnaig to the oranges, pinks and purples as we watched the sun go down over Loch Earn. From Loch Crannogs, to chat of cats big and small, and Castle chainmail! From 'Albany's ass' to a moment of reflection at Rob Roy MacGregors grave, it was a pleasure.

And finally, of course who can forget the highlight of the trip: Meeting your new furry friend Donald! I'll keep an eye on him until your next trip.

With best wishes, Brenda.

To Rod & Donna Tieken, Wichita Falls, (TEXAS), usa.

As promised I've planted 3 trees in the Tasting Scotland 'Trees for Life' highlands rewilding Grove to commemorate your tour in the Scottish Highlands!

It was a trip of spectacular landscapes in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, Glencoe and down the coast to the seafood capital, Oban. Every corner through the red, orange and yellow of the autumn trees to the seven colours of many rainbows (complete with dancing unicorns obviously!). From castles to masterclass cocktails, from Scottish Seafood to Rod's incredible Texan BBQ (I'm still salivating!)
May you both have many happy days with your beautiful family until I my every increasing 'butt' over your way!

With best wishes, Brenda.

As promised I've planted 7 trees in the Scottish Highlands to say thank you for choosing Tasting Scotland for your week long tour!

It was a real pleasure to spend those days with you across both of Scotland's National Parks. From cycling at Loch Katrine (all credit to you - the rain really did pour down in bucketfuls that day!!), to a gorgeous near 20,000 step walk in Glencoe and through the early autumnal colours in the Birks of Aberfeldy forest. From cheese making to the world's best chocolate truffle tasting, from Culloden to the shores of Loch Ness at Urquhart Castle. I mean you even survived the locals!! You'll not forget Chris and Tom in a hurry! Thank you also for introducing me to Madeline and Pip (like yourselves beautiful inside and out) and a reminder that when in doubt just buy socks!

I'm already looking forward to your next trip. I have plenty of experiences up my sleeve I know you'll love! Keep well until then. Best wishes, Brenda

4 Trees have been planted in the Tasting Scotland grove to say thank you and to celebrate surviving every type of weather Scotland could throw at you! Well done indeed. It was a pleasure exploring the many highlights in Doune, Dunblane (nice traffic cone on Andy Murray's Olympic Gold Postbox!), Stirling, the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, Callander, Inveraray, Oban and Glencoe with you all.
Do you think we could get Adele to change the Skyfall lyrics to Mountainfall? A much more fitting tribute to your Scotland vacation!
Best wishes until Washington DC! Brenda

To Emily, Dana, John, Jennifer & Kate Timar, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Well, you survived 4 days in the Scottish Highlands - likely because as promised I did not sing! We laughed, I nearly cried (Wee Bonnie) and hopefully like me you have plenty of lovely memories to look back on. I cannot wait to try all that incredible smoked food over your way, but until I'll keep practising my side of the pond. And especially to Dana Timar, many congratulations on the launch of your first published book 'Redemption Road'! I can't wait to read the Georgian England based exploits of Jonathon Hamilton. I'm sure it'll be a great success! Best, Brenda

Two trees planted to say thanks for our two days together! From Edinburgh to the Highland capital of Inverness, a cooler windy day at Urquhart Castle and on the Loch Ness Nessie Hunter, to Culloden and to the brilliant Leakeys book shop, it was a real pleasure (well until John started trying to be funny. Then it was just torture).
Kathy - I know I've said it once but I'll say it again.....you deserve a medal! ;-)

Until next time, all the best, Brenda. (Actually Kathy can you give me at least 12 months notice. I need to be head-to-toe John-proofed).
