Haycock and Jay Associates are established and highly regarded professional ecologists based in Yorkshire, working throughout the north of England, Wales and Scotland.
With experience in delivering a wide range of ecological services, we are specialists in surveying, monitoring and advising on reptiles, amphibians, otters, water voles and botany (including bryophytes). We are also expert in habitat mapping including catchment scale river surveys, UK BAP habitat mapping, Condition Assessment and National Vegetation Classification (NVC). We include intelligent and innovative solutions in our mitigation, habitat design and management plans. Our clients include Natural England, Forestry Commission Scotland, Environment Agency, National Trust, Flora Locale and Institute of Zoology.
Naturally, we are committed to assessing the environmental impact of all our purchases, travel and other decisions and to minimising our waste and carbon footprint. We always take measures to reduce our carbon footprint through careful purchasing and utilising public transport and bicycle wherever possible. We recognise that it is not possible to truly ‘offset’ carbon emissions or become ‘carbon neutral’ by planting trees. However, we share the vision of Trees for Life who are working to restore the Caledonian Forest over a substantial area, and believe that this tree planting will reduce the impact of unavoidable emissions we have generated whilst conducting our business.
