Edward David Sturgeon's memorial grove

Edward David Sturgeon grove

Edward David Sturgeon, better known as Davy, born 12/5/1933 died 18/6/2009 aged 76,
lived in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. He was a time-served nursery-man with Listers Nursery and continued his love of horticulture until the end.  He was a devoted husband, father (of 6) and grandfather. He won many prizes for his exhibits at the local flower show but his speciality was dahlias.  He loved his garden which won admiration from everyone but the hard work and long hours to achieve this perfection never bothered him.
We his loving family, miss him so dearly but gain comfort that his memory breeds new life.
Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to this fitting memorial to him.

Ten years have passed
They have gone so fast
Yet everyday
An eternity
Without you here with us
All the love that you have shown
Through all the years that we have grown
Formed memories that keep us going
And keep you close to us

We cried when you passed away
We still cry today
Although we loved you dearly
We couldn't make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove
To us he only takes the best.

We'll always remember
that special smile,
that caring heart,
that warm embrace,
you always gave us.
You being there
for Mum and us,
through good and bad times,
no matter what.
We'll always remember
you Dad because
they'll never be another one
to replace you in our hearts,
and the love we will always
have for you.

“Grief never ends…but it changes It’s a passage. Not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness nor a lack of faith… It’s the price of love”

God saw you getting tired

and a cure was not to be.

So he put his arms around you

and whispered "Come to Me".

A golden heart stopped beating,

hard working hands now rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best.

Dear Dad, 3 years have now passed but we still miss you terribly. Life is just not the same without you. We still miss your smile and ready laugh, your jokes and your quiet encouragement and support. Time has made your loss easier to bear but it has not allowed us to miss you any less. love Mum, David, Caroline, Neil and Tracey

Dad, Your smile lit up the darkest days, And as our dad you showed us our ways, As summer months begin to grow, We realise how much we miss you so, Just like a plant needs its roots to survive, It's your love in our roots that keeps us alive, Forever growing in our hearts, Mum, David, Caroline, Neil and Tracey.

A love that is planted lives on. My Davie, My world fell apart The awful day you left me, Gone from our home I am left all alone Yet your spirit lives on In our children you live The legend you left, In a garden of flowers in the trees' emerald towers I know you'll be there Your presence I'll feel, Till we meet again My love, my life But I can't say when. Florence x Treasured Memories of Past Christmases Dad From Your Loving Family. Always in our thoughts from your loving sister Sadie and nephew Ian.
