A Grove of trees in the Scottish Highlands
Highland Roots for Angus
Angus McKendrick

The music of trees, a spiritual home for Angus, loved, loving and laughing Dad and partner.

Add trees to this grove

Good friends we have, oh good friends we have lost, along the way.
In this bright future you can't forget your past, So dry your tears I say (Bob Marley).
Here's £5 I found today, perfect for a tree x

For Angus - Spring 2018
Always in our thoughts
Lone and tall, with silver stem,
A birch-tree stands apart;
The passionate wind of spring-time
Stirs in its leafy heart.

I enjoyed the company of Angus and Sian at the Welsh Open Snooker, Tolpuddle Festival etc. He was a dedicated revolutionary socialist who campaigned against injustice and to transform society.

Rise, like lions after slumber In unvanquishable number!
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you:
Ye are many - they are few!

As I was walking I saw a sign there,
And on the sign it said "No Trespassing".
But on the other side it didn't say nothing,
That side was made for you and me

Poem for Angus (by Rob Imeson)

Sitting by the white pub wall

Warmed by the Lyme sun

Comrades by the sea-side

It's an English revolution

Tea served along a tow path

By an anarchist and his dog

Resistance in a tea cup

Our search for a solution

An aging punk with a walking stick

In a queue for a cash machine

Making cuts to welfare

The State's fiscal resolution

A woman at a bus stop

Has come without her purse

She gets a free ride today

It's just redistribution

An English campsite in the rain

A one pound all day breakfast

Flags fly above the camper vans

This is our constitution

Remembering your kindly laugh

Your love of independence

Cyclist in a landscape

It's an English revolution

Your grove of trees

The trees in this grove will be carefully planted in protected sites in the Scottish Highlands where they will create homes for wildlife and forests for the future.

Scots pine against a summer blue sky.
Twinflowers in bloom on pine woodland floor.
A Scotch argus butterfly on common ragwort.
