Accredited carbon offsetting for businesses

Our accredited carbon offsetting site sits at the heart of our rewilding estate, Dundreggan, and has the capacity to offset over 50,000 tonnes of CO2.

This carefully planted site – containing over 250,000 native trees which have been planted by 530 passionate volunteers – is validated and verified under the Woodland Carbon Code, the gold-standard for woodland carbon sequestration.

Our accredited carbon offsetting is rooted in nature-based solutions. Each carbon unit represents a tonne of atmospheric carbon captured and stored through this restored native woodland and will sequester carbon for at least 100 years.

Woodland Carbon Code

The Woodland Carbon Code offers carbon credit buyers the assurance that each woodland scheme will deliver the benefits that we say it will, and that that woodland represents genuine new planting. Compliance with the Code means that woodland carbon projects:

  • Are responsibly and sustainably managed to national standards.
  • Can provide reliable, conservative estimates of the amount of carbon that will be sequestered or locked up as a result of the tree planting.
  • Must be publicly registered and independently verified.
  • Meet transparent criteria and standards to ensure that real carbon benefits are delivered.

Our approach to carbon

Reduce first. Then use high-integrity woodland carbon as part of a wider plan.

Projects are certified to ISO standards by a UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) accredited by the Soil Association and an ongoing monitoring programme for the woodlands is agreed between the parties.

Shared commitment

We understand the need for businesses to mitigate the environmental impact of their day-to-day operations and want to work with partners who:

  • Understand the sources and scale of their emissions and their impact.
  • Are able to demonstrate a genuine commitment to decarbonisation and emission reduction.
  • Are able to demonstrate a timetabled plan for decarbonisation.
  • Are able to demonstrate how sustainability is embedded in their organisation.
    first.

Go beyond offsetting

Carbon offsetting is a meaningful step toward environmental sustainability, and plays an important role in tackling the climate crisis.

Many businesses are now choosing to go further, supporting long-term nature recovery and creating lasting impact beyond carbon alone.

A Trees for Life partnership connects your business to real landscapes, helping restore forests, wildlife and communities in the Scottish Highlands. It’s a chance to be part of something tangible – a shared mission your team, customers and stakeholders can genuinely believe in.

If you’re ready to deepen your impact, we’d love to talk.
