Partnerships Manager, Philanthropy – Inspiring transformative giving for a wilder Scotland
Are you an inspiring relationship-builder who can turn passion into transformational giving? At Trees for Life, we are boldly rewilding the Scottish Highlands, restoring the Caledonian forest, bringing back lost wildlife, and strengthening the bond between people and nature. As Partnership Manager for Philanthropy, you will play a pivotal role in making this vision possible by securing six and seven-figure gifts from high-net-worth individuals and family foundations. Through strategic relationship-building, tailored stewardship, and compelling storytelling, you will help ensure the long-term success of rewilding at scale. With flexible, remote working, you’ll have the freedom to support the Scottish Highlands from wherever you are in the UK, forging the relationships that help bring more life back to our landscapes.
What you will do in a typical week:
- Develop and deliver a new Major Gifts strategy, aligning with Trees for Life’s bold vision and values.
- Identify, research, and qualify high-net-worth individuals and family foundations in the UK and overseas.
- Build and steward bespoke relationships, connecting donors with projects and project leaders.
- Craft compelling proposals, presentations and impact reports that inspire impactful giving.
- Plan and host exclusive donor events, briefings, and field visits, providing memorable experiences in the Highlands and other key locations in the UK where relevant.
- Negotiate and manage gift agreements and pledges, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Champion a culture of philanthropy within the charity, equipping colleagues and volunteers to engage confidently with donors.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on activity, using insights to continually refine strategy and maximise return on investment.
Salary: £29,996 – £34,133
Hours: 35hrs/pw, permanent

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
The key to rewilding’s success is people. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive organisation, and recognise that some communities currently remain underrepresented in the environmental and conservation sector, including in the Scottish Highlands. We welcome applications from individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds, people with disabilities, and those from underrepresented socioeconomic backgrounds. We are committed to proactively diversifying our sector, especially in leadership roles.
Just as biodiversity enhances ecosystems, diverse people enrich our sector and help us take bolder, more impactful action for nature. Rewilding is a shared journey, and together, we’re crafting a diverse, living landscape that supports communities and local livelihoods.
If you require any additional support or adjustments for the application or interview process, please don’t hesitate to contact us at jobs@treesforlife.org.uk
